I got an I-Phone from my husband for my 30th birthday and a $25 giftcard from my sister-in-law to I-Tunes to purchase features for the phone. Features that I need include such things as BloggPress (souped-up Blogger for the I-Phone), cool ringtones, fun games, etc.
I will not actually be purchasing anything for the I-Phone. I will tell Jeremy what I want and he will put it on my phone. He's already done that with free stuff--like Zippo, Fake-a-Call, Midoni, and SnapTell. He's also already re-organized and updated my contacts list for me...and he's made our home email account synced to the phone. Now, before you get all mushy-mushy about what a great husband he is (he IS a great husband...but...) let me just tell you that he bought himself an I-Phone for my birthday as well. There's a story involved there...
Anyway...here's where the Blues are coming from. I love my new phone. It has already proven to be a great purchase...especially once I can get my work email hooked up to it. The problem is...picking out a ringtone. My top two choices are not available. What stinks is that they were both my former ringtones on my crappy, old phone. Why are they not available for my sleek new I-Phone?! Ho hum.
I need your help coming up with a new ringtone. My two choices that I WANTED were Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'" intro OR Starship's "Sarah."
It has to be something that won't be blatantly embarrassing if it were to go off in a meeting--like I cannot put ReMix to Ignition by R.Kelly on my phone. While it's an excellent song, there is just too much about that song that screams "unprofessional." I also cannot put something lame on there...like a Phil Collins song. The ringtone has to represent me and all that I entail. Basically, it has to be sweet...and by sweet I mean awesome. :c)
So, readers, please send me some suggestions. My default "chiming of the bells" is starting to wear me down. Oh, and if you haven't read my previous post yet with all the pics of Margaret--scroll down. You're missing some funny.

I peg you for a Neil Diamond ringtone. Can't go wrong there.
You previously had a STARSHIP song and a JAY-Z song as your ringtone, and you're worried just now about the new one being blatantly embarrassing? I hate to state the obvious....
RUDE!
I don't know Chris, but he stole my answer.
Chris is my brother-in-law. Neil Diamond is an excellent choice for a ringtone, but he has not made any of his songs availiable for purchase through I-Tunes for the I-Phone. Darn you artist rights!!! Plus, I just don't think there's a ND song that would fit my ringtone needs...shocking, I know.
My first choice for you would be "Sirius" by Alan Parsons. You may not recognize the name but you've probably heard the theme if have ever seen an NBA team introduction ceremony. It sounds kind of like a ringtone, but way cooler. The only drawback might be the urge to say "And now, introducing yooooour Chicago Buuuuulls!!" every time you get a call.
The other choice would be "La Grange" by ZZ Top, if only because it makes my kid dance every time my phone rings, and my kid is very cute when he dances. Plus, they're from Texas, so you know, yee ha and all.
I tried to get her to choose "Another Day in Paradise" since she's a massive Phil Collins fan. People would really respect that.
Or "Ain't No Sunshine" (and just use the "I know, I know, I know, I know, I know, I know. . ." portion).
Or, taking a completely different approach, "Immigrant Song" by Zeppelin.
I can't figure out why I have not seen a single text message from my newly connected friend...
Well...Bongo is the only one who's given any suggestions, people. I don't watch basketball, so that option is doable since I won't have any announcing desires tied in w/ the song. I'll also check out the LZep song. Jer sang it to me and it did indeed sound danceble. I'm also thinking a/b Just What I Needed by The Cars. The intro is pretty fun.
Oops. I meant to say the ZZTop song was danceable.
okay, looks like I need you to do tech support for my phone. I can't figure out the ringtone either... I currently have "Strum"... which makes me a loser.
Also - Do you find yourself asking others "How many apps do you have"? haha
Sarah does love Phil Collins...hmmmm....what about Sussudio?
Just because when a girl is nine years old and saves up her allowance to purchase her very first self-bought cassette tape and it HAPPENS to be a Phil Collins tape does not mean said girl is still a fan of Phil Collins, people.
How about something from the 80's... how about the ring tone from that movie crank... love that... how about something Sinatra... how about not listening too me...
Really it is too much pressure for someone in your condition. Let us trade phones... you can have mine that will give you no pressure... and I will take the pressure off of you!
I am terrible with music stuff...I can't think of a song....but you could have a different song for whomever is calling you. For example, I know someone who has "Fear the Reaper" ring when the office calls.
I decided on "Just What I Needed" by The Cars. I really like The Cars, so I figure that gives me some authenticity. If I had picked ZZ or LedZep then I may have felt like a poser since I'm really not up on their stuff.
I have the intro to "Just What I Needed" all the way up until the first two lines...which say, "I don't mind you coming here...and wasting all my time, time."
Jenny, seriously, it took me two weeks to find my BASIC ringtone and you're suggesting songs that I can add for other people?! :c) I used to have "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam for whenever Jeremy called...but it was kind of creepy...it would sing, "Jeremy's spoken...AGAIN!!!!" in that creepy Pearl Jam lead-singer voice.
And Greg, thanks for offering to "take the phone off my hands." You're very thoughtful.
I had "How Do You Know He Loves You" for Cory(from my favorite movie, Enchanted), and "Dancing Queen" for my parents. Way cool! How about the "Backyardigans" themesong? That's always popular!
Stacey...nice thoughts...I would hate to think of how much begging I'd get from Margaret to watch "Pablo" everytime the phone rang. :c)
I'm jealous of both you and Laura S...I wish I had a new IPhone! Or, what is it I'm supposed to say??? I wish I had a new I Phone and you had a better one! LOL As for ringtones, I'm never good at that one. I have "If I Were a Boy" and "Whatever You Like" on my phone, but I'm already getting tired of those. I need help in that area, too, so when you find it, please send them my way!
Enjoy it...for me! :)
I found a website where you can get free ringtones. It's myxer.com. I did it last night, and it worked great. Of course, I don't have an IPhone. SOL
How about Kung Fu Fighting? (How random & dorky am I?)
Final Countdown - and then dance like Gob Bluth every time it rings!
Ohhhhhhh...how I miss the Arrested Development.
What about Ice Ice Baby? Gwen giggled so hard this weekend when it came on 107.5 (new fav station) and mommy knew all the words...or how about some 90's rap? Sir Mix-a-lot is always a favorite!
I know, I should have already given you options...Paradise City!!! Just thought of that one...
OOHHHH, Cheeseburger in Paradise!
